Thenga Varutharacha Konju Curry

Shrimp curry with nice roasted coconut masala.

Ingredients
  

  • 250 g Prawns
  • 2 nos Onion chopped
  • 1 no Tomato chopped
  • 2 nos Green chillies chopped
  • 1 tbsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 5 cloves Garlic chopped
  • 1 piece Ginger chopped
  • 1/2 cup Coconut grated
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice
  • 1/4 cup Coconut slices
  • Curry leaves Few
  • 4 nos Shallots chopped
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing thenga varutharacha konju curry, mix turmeric, salt, lime juice and prawns.
  • Fry it in oil till half cooked.
  • In a pan, add coconut, chilly powder and coriander powder.
  • Roast them well and grind it.
  • In a pan, heat oi. Add onion, ginger, garlic and fry well.
  • Add the tomatoes and green chillies.
  • Add ground paste and cook masala well.
  • Add prawns and cook prawns well.
  • Lastly, heat oil in a kadai, fry sliced coconut pieces, curry leaves and shallots.
  • When it turns dark brown, pour over gravy and serve.
  • Thenga varutharacha konju curry is ready.
