Tasty Mutton Sukka

Tasty Mutton Sukka is a delicious Tamilnadu dish roasted until dry. The fried roasted masala coats the mutton chunks. The thick spicy masala in our Mutton Sukka dish is mouth watering and it goes well with roti, naan and a variety of rice based dishes too. Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 kg Mutton chopped
  • 2 nos Onion chopped
  • 3 nos Green chillies chopped
  • 5 nos Red dry chillies
  • 2 nos Cloves
  • 2 nos Bay leaves Karuga ela
  • 2 nos Cinnamon sticks Karugapatta
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • 2 tsp Ginger grated
  • 4 cloves Garlic chopped
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup Coconut grated
  • 6 nos Shallots Kunjulli
  • Curry leaves Few
  • 1/2 cup Coriander leaves
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing tasty mutton sukka, first pressure cook mutton with turmeric, ginger-garlic paste, salt and little curry leaves.
  • In a pan, pour little oil. Add shallots, 3 dry chillies and fry it.
  • Then add coconut grated and fry till dark brown in color in low flame.
  • When cooled, grind it and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add oil. Fry cloves, dry chillies, cinnamon, bay leaves.
  • Add onion and fry well. Add ginger, garlic, green chillies and curry leaves.
  • Add the ground coconut and fry well.
  • Add mutton pieces with water and saute well.
  • Add coriander powder and chilly powder.
  • Evaporate the water and make thick masala.
  • When mutton is done, add coriander leaves and serve hot.
