Covered Prawn Fry

Prawns are dipped in a batter and then fried in oil

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 kg Prawns peeled, de-veined and cleaned
  • 1 tbsp Soya sauce
  • 1 tsp Pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp Corn flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Celery finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Vinegar
  • 1 tsp All purpose flour Maida
  • 2 nos Egg whites
  • Agino moto A pinch
  • Oil to fry
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing covered prawn fry, cook the prawns in 1/2 tsp pepper powder, soya sauce, salt, turmeric powder and some water. Drain the water and keep it aside.
  • Beat the egg white well in a bowl.
  • Mix in corn flour, maida, vinegar and celery to the above egg white to make a thick paste. Keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a china dish.
  • Dip the cooked prawns in the paste and fry it in oil till it becomes crispy. Cover and cook it.
  • Covered prawn fry is ready. Serve hot.
