Squid(Koonthal) Nirachathu

Squid is stuffed with squid masala

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 kg Squid Koonthal
  • 5 nos Green chillies split
  • 1/2 cup Coconut grated
  • 1/4 cup Red onions chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic chopped
  • 1/4 + Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • 2 springs Curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • Oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing squid nirachathu, clean and cut the squid tentacles finely. Keep the body of the squid.
  • Splutter the mustard in oil.
  • Add in green chillies, red onions, coconut, garlic, curry leaves and turmeric powder. SautT it well.
  • Then add in the chopped squid tentacles and water. Cook till the water evaporates on low flame.
  • Stuff this mixture into the body of the squid and stitch the opening of the squid with a needle and thread.
  • In a bowl mix chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt in some water.
  • Dip the stuffed squid in the above mixture and fry it in hot oil till it becomes crispy.
  • Squid nirachath is ready. Serve immediately. While serving, remove the thread.
