1/4 kg Squid (Koonthal)5 nos Green chillies (split)1/2 cup Coconut (grated)1/4 cup Red onions (chopped)3 cloves Garlic (chopped)1/4 + Turmeric powder1/4 tsp Mustard seeds1 tsp Chilly powder2 springs Curry leaves1/2 cup WaterOil (As reqd)Salt (As reqd) For preparing squid nirachathu, clean and cut the squid tentacles finely. Keep the body of the squid.Splutter the mustard in oil.Add in green chillies, red onions, coconut, garlic, curry leaves and turmeric powder. SautT it well.Then add in the chopped squid tentacles and water. Cook till the water evaporates on low flame.Stuff this mixture into the body of the squid and stitch the opening of the squid with a needle and thread.In a bowl mix chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt in some water.Dip the stuffed squid in the above mixture and fry it in hot oil till it becomes crispy.Squid nirachath is ready. Serve immediately. While serving, remove the thread. Kerala
