Morappam

Morappam a Kerala recipe which is a very common name as kuzhi panniyaram. Morappam can do many versions one is leftover batter using with other ingredients and another one is a direct grind of this purpose of morappam. In that we use raw rice, urad dal and grind and ferment make this batter. But this is always an easy and quick recipe of morappam. This recipe can do anyone even bachelors is comfort with recipe. Because they grind or buy rice batter at the last stage they can use this with leftover batter for this recipe. This recipe we add more onion, ginger and green chili and to give crunch bites of coconut to cut small pieces. This all makes good aroma to this recipe. Moreover we add tsp of semolina to avoid that fermented flavor This we do in panniyaram tawa which is called as appe pan. Now we can see how to do this recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Dosa batter
  • 3 nos Green chillies
  • 2 tbsp Coconut chopped
  • 1 piece Ginger
  • 2 tbsp Semolina rava
  • Asafoetida powder A pinch, Kayam
  • Salt As reqd
  • Coconut oil As reqd
  • Curry leaves Few
  • 1 tsp Mustard

Instructions
 

  • For preparing morappam, fry mustard and curry leaves in oil.
  • Pour this in dosa batter.
  • Add ginger, green chillies, coconut, asafoetida and salt.
  • After sometime, add semolina and mix.
  • Pour the batter in unniappam tawa and fry it.
