Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 kg Raw rice Pachari
  • 50 g Dry red chillies
  • 25 g Cumin seeds Jeeraakam
  • 25 g Sesame seeds Ellu
  • 1 tbsp Asafoetida powder Kayam
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing ari kondattam/vattal, grind together all the ingredients.
  • Then add 2 litres water and knead well.
  • Put the mixture in the murukku press.
  • Press it over a cloth and sun dry it.
  • Deep fry the dried kondattam in oil and serve Kerala Arikondattam with rice.
