Orotty

A dish made with rice flour

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Rice flour
  • 1/2 cup Coconut grated
  • 1/2 cup Cooked rice
  • 1 no Onion finely chopped, big
  • 2-3 nos Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger grated
  • 1 spring Curry leaves
  • 2-3 springs Coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1 no Tomato chopped
  • 2 pinches Garam masala
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 tsp Vegetable oil
  • Ghee/vegetable oil(optional) for sprinkling over orotty

Instructions
 

  • For preparing orotty, grind cooked rice into a fine paste. Keep this aside.
  • Saute tomato adding a little oil and blend well.
  • Add onion, green chillies, ginger and curry leaves. Saute slightly.
  • Mix all the ingredients except ghee and make a dough like that of chapathi.(you can add water if needed)
  • Make small balls out of this dough. Flatten each ball into small circles and place over tawa and cook.(Sprinkle ghee/vegetable oil if needed).
  • Orotty is ready. Serve hot.
