  • Rice flour - 2 cups
  • Coconut(grated) - 1/2 cup
  • Cooked rice - 1/2 cup
  • Onion(finely chopped, big) - 1 no
  • Green chillies(finely chopped) - 2-3 nos
  • Ginger(grated) - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves(finely chopped) - 2-3 springs
  • Tomato(chopped) - 1 no
  • Garam masala - 2 pinches
  • Salt(As reqd) -
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tsp
  • Ghee/vegetable oil(optional) for sprinkling over orotty -

Instructions
  1. For preparing orotty, grind cooked rice into a fine paste. Keep this aside.
  2. Saute tomato adding a little oil and blend well.
  3. Add onion, green chillies, ginger and curry leaves. Saute slightly.
  4. Mix all the ingredients except ghee and make a dough like that of chapathi.(you can add water if needed)
  5. Make small balls out of this dough. Flatten each ball into small circles and place over tawa and cook.(Sprinkle ghee/vegetable oil if needed).
  6. Orotty is ready. Serve hot.
