Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 kg Sardine/Mathi
  • 1 cup Coconut grated
  • 6 nos Shallots Kunjulli
  • 3 nos Green chillies
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • Curry leaves Few
  • 1 small Ginger
  • Coconut oil As reqd
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing mathi peera fry, first clean fish and make slits. Crush roughly coconut, shallots, green chillies, chilly powder, coriander powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and curry leaves. Keep aside.
  • Sprinkle little salt and 1/2 tsp turmeric on the fish pieces and shallow fry in mann chatti.
  • Take out the fish and keep aside.
  • In the same chatti, pour little oil and splutter mustard seeds. Add the crushed coconut mixture and fry.
  • Add the fish pieces and cover it with lid and cook for sometime.
  • When done remove from flame and pour little oil on top.
  • Mathi peera fry is ready.
