For preparing mathi peera fry, first clean fish and make slits. Crush roughly coconut, shallots, green chillies, chilly powder, coriander powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and curry leaves. Keep aside.
Sprinkle little salt and 1/2 tsp turmeric on the fish pieces and shallow fry in mann chatti.
Take out the fish and keep aside.
In the same chatti, pour little oil and splutter mustard seeds. Add the crushed coconut mixture and fry.
Add the fish pieces and cover it with lid and cook for sometime.
When done remove from flame and pour little oil on top.
Mathi peera fry is ready.
