Tomato Sauce

Basic tomato sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Ripe tomatoes
  • 1 no Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 no Bouquet garni French herbs: thyme, parsley, bay leaf
  • 1 tbsp Tomato puree ready made
  • Salt As reqd
  • Pepper As reqd
  • 1 pinch Sugar

Instructions
 

  • For preparing tomato sauce, chop the onion and garlic cloves. Keep it aside.
  • Put the tomatoes in boiling water and blend it well in the food processor.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the onion and garlic in it.
  • Add the pureed tomatoes, tomato puree, bouquet garni, salt, pepper and sugar.
  • Stir and simmer in low flame uncovered for 30 min.
  • Remove the bouquet garni and season to taste before serving.
  • Tomato sauce is ready. Serve it with any spicy snacks.
