For preparing fish curry with coconut, first clean and cut the fish. Wash, drain and keep aside.
Roughly grind shallots, ginger and green chillies. Keep aside.
Grind coconut, 1/4 cup curry leaves, coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder and cumin seeds. Keep this aside.
Heat oil in mann chatti(clay pot), splutter mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds. Add the roughly ground shallots and remaining curry leaves.
Fry for few minutes. Add the ground coconut mixture and saute well.
When the oil starts to come out, add fish pieces, salt and tamarind water.
Allow the fish to cook.
After the fish is cooked and the gravy becomes thick consistency, remove from flame.
Pour 2 tsp coconut oil on top. Cover it with a lid and serve hot after 5 minutes with cooked rice.
