Papaya-Cherupayar Thoran

Papaya and green gram cooked with coconut and other ingredients.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Papaya grated
  • 1 cup Green gram Cherupayar
  • 1 cup Coconut grated
  • 4 nos Onion
  • 2 nos Green chillies
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 3 nos Red onion
  • Pepper powder A pinch
  • Curry leaves Few
  • 2 nos Red chillies
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds

Instructions
 

  • For preparing papaya - cherupayar thoran, first heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds and fry onion.
  • Then add red chilly and curry leaves to it.
  • Add the grated papaya to it.
  • Then add red onion, ginger, green chillies, turmeric powder and salt to it and stir well.
  • Add the grated coconut and mix it well.
  • Cover the with pan with a lid and cook it.
  • Remove the lid after some time and add the cooked cherupayar to it and mix well.
  • Add the curry leaves to it and cover it with a lid and cook for some more time.
  • Take it from flame and convert it to serving dish.
  • Papaya-cherupayar thoran, a tasty recipe is ready. Serve it with rice.
