Beans Theeyal

Beans and other ingerdients are added to make beans theeyal

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Beans chopped
  • 1/2 cup Shallots chopped, Kunjulli
  • 4 nos Green chillies slit
  • 2 cups Coconut grated
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 pinch Fenugreek seed powder Uluva
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Tamarind juice lemon sized ball
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 spring Curry leaves
  • Coconut oil As reqd
  • 2 nos Dry red chillies slit
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Shallots finely chopped, Kunjulli

Instructions
 

  • For preparing beans theeyal, take a clay vessel and fry beans, shallots and green chillies in coconut oil and keep it aside.
  • Fry grated coconut in the same oil till it becomes brown in color.
  • Add chilly powder, fenugreek seed powder and turmeric powder to it and mix well. Take it out of the flame.
  • Grind fried coconut mixture without adding water.
  • In the same clay vessel add tamarind juice, salt, coconut paste, curry leaves and the fried veggies one by one and cook it by pouring required water. Remove it from the flame when done.
  • Take another vessel, pour oil and fry the seasoning ingredients: mustard seeds, red chilly and finely chopped small onions. Pour the seasoning into above mixture.
  • Beans theeyal is ready. Serve hot.
