Lemon Rasam - Brahmin Special

Ingredients
  

  • 2 nos Tomato
  • 1 tsp Ginger chopped
  • 2 nos Green chillies split
  • 2 nos Red chillies cut in half
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida Kayam
  • 1 cup Toovar dal(Thuvara parippu Thuvara parippu
  • 1 tsp Pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 3 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds Kaduku
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1 no Lemon

Instructions
 

  • Wash and cut tomato and boil it in water. Add turmeric powder, salt, red chillies, green chillies and ginger.
  • Cook toovar dal in cooker adding little turmeric powder.
  • Add the boiled toovar dal to the 1 st step mixture.
  • Add asafoetida, pepper powder and keep cooking till the foam comes.
  • After cooking is over, add lemon juice, curry leaves and coriander leaves to the mixture.
  • Fry mustard seeds and cumin seeds in ghee and add to the mixture.
  • Lemon rasam is ready to serve.
