Chicken pulav in andhra style

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Basmati rice long grain
  • 1/2k g Chicken pieces
  • 100 g Cashew nuts
  • 1 cup Onion pieces
  • 1 cup Onion paste
  • 6 nos Green chillies
  • 2 tsp Red chilly powder
  • 250 ml Ghee
  • 10 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 1 tsp Poppy Seeds Khus khus
  • Netmeg Small piece, Jatikka
  • 2 tsp Coriander seeds
  • 10 nos Cardamom Elakka
  • 3 nos Bay leaves Karuga ela
  • 3 inch Ginger
  • 6 nos Garlic bulbs
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder

Instructions
 

  • Take the cloves, poppy seeds, nutmeg, coriander seeds, ginger piece and garlic bulbs into a grinding bowl and prepare a fine paste. Apply it to the chicken pieces and kepp aside for marination. Fry the cashew nuts in little ghee and set aside.
  • Put the cooker on the stove, add ghee and heat. Add the onion pieces and onion paste and fry until they turn brown. Add bay leaves, green chillies and turmeric powder and fry.
  • Add the washed basmati rice and stir fry for five minutes. Now add the marinated chicken pieces and fry until oil separates. Add fried cashew nuts, red chilly powder and four cups of water. Mix well and place the lid and weight on the cooker.
  • Cook for about fifteen minutes.
  • Serve hot with curd and onion salad.
