Podi Sambar - Brahmin Special
Tuvar dal, ladies finger, carrot and other ingredients are cooked with tuvar dal to make podi sambar

- 3 cups Tuvar dal
- 5 nos Ladies finger sliced
- 1 no Radish sliced
- 1 no Carrot sliced
- 100 g Pumpkin sliced
- 2 nos Onion
- 1 no Potato sliced
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 4 tbsp Sambar powder
- 1 tbsp Red chilly powder
- Asafoetida A pinch, Kayam
- 2 tsp Mustard seeds
- Tamarind lemon size
- 2 tsp Ghee
- Salt As reqd
For preparing podi sambar - brahmin special, wash tuvar dal and boil it with 4 cups of water with a pinch of turmeric powder in pressure cooker.
Soak tamarind in water and squeeze it out.
Fry vegetables 2 to 7 (from ladies finger to Potato) in ghee.
Then add fried items to tamarind water and boil for a few minutes.
While boiling, add sambar powder, red chilly powder and salt.
Add the boiled tuvar dal(item 1) to this mixture and keep boiling for few minutes.
Add asafoetida.
Fry mustard seeds in coconut oil and add to this mixture.
Add curry leaves. Podi sambar - brahmin special recipe, is ready.
