Vegetarian Pulav - Low Fat

Pulav with less calorie and simply yummy

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Basmati rice
  • 1/2 cup Mixed vegetables sliced, green peas,carrot,beans
  • 3 nos Onion medium size, chopped
  • 2 nos Tomato chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Chilly paste
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • Turmeric powder a little for color
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • Coriander leaves a handful
  • Salt As reqd
  • 3 tbsp Sun flower oil

Instructions
 

  • Soak rice for 30 minutes.
  • Take triple amount of water compared to rice and allow to boil.
  • When boiling starts, add full vegetables and salt needed.
  • Add rice. When it is 3/4 cooked, drain and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a vessel and splutter cumin seeds.
  • Add onion and saute.
  • Add ginger, garlic and chilly paste. When onion is about to brown, add coriander powder, turmeric powder and mix well.
  • Add tomatoes and a little salt. Allow to soften. 9)Add 1/4 th of garam masala and half of coriander leaves.
  • Put cooked rice upon this. On top of rice add the leftover garam masala and coriander leaves.
  • Close tightly or seal it with foil and then close it. Keep in simmer flame for 5 minutes.
  • Mix well and serve hot.
