Pomfret-Avoli Fry With Vegetables

Pomfret-Avoli Fry with Vegetables is a famous fish dish in Kerala where the whole Pomfret fish is used. Pomfret/avoli is marinated in a mixture of soya sauce, pepper powder, other ingredients and later deep fried.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 nos Pomfret washed and drained, Avoli
  • 2 tsp Pepper powder
  • 7 cloves Garlic
  • Ginger A small piece
  • 2 tsp Soya sauce
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Vinegar
  • 1 cup Onion finely sliced
  • 1 cup Capsicum sliced
  • 1/4 cup Carrot sliced
  • 1/4 cup Celery chopped
  • 4 nos Green chillies slit
  • Oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing pomfret/avoli fry with vegetables, first grind the following ingredients: pepper powder, garlic, ginger, soya sauce, vinegar and required salt to a fine paste.
  • Make slits on both sides and apply the ground paste evenly on both sides. Marinate for 3 hours in a refrigerator.
  • Meanwhile, heat some oil in a pan and fry onions, capsicum, carrot, green chillies and celery to a golden brown color.
  • Add some salt and remove the veggies from pan.
  • In another pan, heat some oil and deep fry the marinated fish until done. Remove the fried fishes from pan.
  • Place the fried pomfret in a serving dish and decorate the sides with fried veggies.
  • Pomfret/avoli fry with vegetables, a yummy dish, is ready. Serve hot and enjoy.
