Jeera Chicken Fry

Chicken pieces marinated in a mixture of cumin seeds, pepper, ginger, other ingredients and finally deep fried

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 kg Chicken pieces washed and drained, medium sized
  • 1 tbsp Pepper whole
  • 2 tbsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 1 tbsp Chilly powder
  • Ginger A small piece
  • 7 cloves Garlic
  • 3 nos Green chillies
  • 2 nos Onion finely sliced
  • 1 lemon Lime juice
  • Coriander leaves chopped
  • Oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing jeera chicken fry, first dry fry the cumin seeds and pepper corns in low heat. Powder them and mix with red chilly powder. Keep this aside.
  • Grind together ginger, garlic and green chillies to a smooth paste.
  • Mix together the ginger mixture, previously prepared cumin pepper mix and required salt.
  • Apply this paste on the chicken pieces and marinate for 45 minutes.
  • Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and fry the onions until brown and crisp. Remove the onions from fire.
  • In the same oil, fry the marinated chicken pieces until golden brown and done. Drain off excess oil and let the chicken pieces remain in the kadai itself.
  • Stir in fried onions and add lime juice. Mix well with the fried chicken pieces.
  • Jeera chicken fry is ready. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
