For preparing fish curry in goan style, first grind pepper, cumin seeds, coriander and turmeric to a paste.
Crush the grated coconut on a grinding stone or blender adding some water. Extract the first thick coconut milk. Add some more water and extract the second thin coconut milk.
Heat a pan and fry half the onions till brown in color. Simultaneously, add the other half of onions, garlic, green chillies, tomato and saute for sometime.
Add fish pieces and required salt. Saute for a few minutes.
Pout the second thin extraction of coconut milk and cook in low heat with a covered lid.
When the fish pieces are done and the gravy has thickened, add the first extraction of coconut milk and vinegar. Simmer without lid and remove from fire before boiling starts.
Fish curry in goan style is ready. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
