Fish Curry In Goan Style

Goan fish curry cooked in coconut milk

Ingredients
  

  • 250 g Fish washed and drained
  • 5 nos Pepper
  • 3 nos Green chillies slit
  • 1/2 cup Onions finely sliced
  • 1/2 dsp Garlic sliced
  • Cumin seeds A pinch, Jeerakam
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 dsp Vinegar
  • 1 cup Coconut grated
  • 1/4 cup Tomato pieces
  • Oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing fish curry in goan style, first grind pepper, cumin seeds, coriander and turmeric to a paste.
  • Crush the grated coconut on a grinding stone or blender adding some water. Extract the first thick coconut milk. Add some more water and extract the second thin coconut milk.
  • Heat a pan and fry half the onions till brown in color. Simultaneously, add the other half of onions, garlic, green chillies, tomato and saute for sometime.
  • Add fish pieces and required salt. Saute for a few minutes.
  • Pout the second thin extraction of coconut milk and cook in low heat with a covered lid.
  • When the fish pieces are done and the gravy has thickened, add the first extraction of coconut milk and vinegar. Simmer without lid and remove from fire before boiling starts.
  • Fish curry in goan style is ready. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
