Malabar Neichoru
Ghee rice or neichoru is a popular muslim dish for ceremonies and weddings

- 500 gms Basmati rice
- 1 no Onion sliced
- 1 inch Cinnamon Karugapatta
- 3 nos Cloves Grambu
- 3 pods Cardamon
- 1 litre Water
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 1 1/2 tbsp Coconut oil
- 1 no Onion finely sliced
- Salt As reqd
for garnishing:
- Cashew nuts Few
- Raisins Few, Onakka munthiri
Wash basmati rice and drain well.
Take a pan and pour ghee. Splutter cinnamon, cloves and cardamom.
Add onion and fry crisp.
Add the drained basmati rice and fry for 5 minutes.
Add boiling water and required salt.
Cover with a lid and cook in low heat until done.
Stir gently and wait till the water has evaporated completely.
Take a pan and pour coconut oil. Fry the onion, cashew nuts and raisins. Scatter on top of malabar neichoru.
