Easy Vermicelli Upma - Healthy Breakfast

Ingredients
  

  • 100 g Vermicelli Semiya
  • 1/2 cup Sprouted green gram cherupayar
  • 1/2 cup Onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Cooked green peas
  • 2 nos Green chillies finely chopped
  • Curry leaves Few
  • Turmeric powder A pinch
  • Mustard seeds Few
  • Split black gram Few, Uzhunnu parippu
  • Split bengal gram Few, Kadala parippu
  • OIl As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds, uzhunnu parippu and kadala parippu. Saute until golden in color.
  • Add chopped onions, green chillies and curry leaves. Fry until onion becomes transparent.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and cooked green peas. Saute in low heat.
  • Add turmeric powder and required salt. Pour 2 cups water and leave it to boil.
  • When water starts boiling, lower the heat and add roasted vermicelli. Cook until done.
  • Sprinkle sprouted cherupayar and stir gently until water has evaporated completely.
  • Easy Vermicelli upma, an ideal breakfast dish is ready. Serve hot.
