Sift the flour and salt into a mixing bowl.
Rub in butter and lard with your fingers till they resemble fine crumbs.
:- do not over rub as the butter may melt.
Add enough cold water so that they cling to form a soft dough.
Wrap in cling film and chill for 30 minutes.
Roll out the pastry into a big square and cut into small squares.
Or you may even use a pastry mould.
Combine the apple cubes with the spice and sugar.
Preheat the oven to 190c.
Begin to fill the pastry squares with 2 tsp of filling, and bring up one side of the dough, overlap and seal the edges with water.
Brush the top of each pastry with beaten egg.
Bake in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes or till golden brown.
Serve hot and enjoy the apple pie pastry.
