Heart Shape Cake

Vanilla cake sandwiched with butter cream

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/4cup) All purpose flour – 6 oz (approximately Maida
  • 6 oz Butter softened
  • 6 oz Sugar
  • 3 nos Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 2 tbsp Milk

For Icing:

  • 700 gms Icing ready to roll icing
  • Sugar flowers To decorate
  • 2 drops Red food coloring
  • Jam As reqd, warmed

Instructions
 

  • Pre heat oven to 180C. Grease two heart shaped pans.
  • Sift the flour and baking powder into a large bowl.
  • Add sugar, butter and eggs and beat till the mixture is smooth.
  • Stir in the milk and mix.
  • Divide the mixture between the two pans and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 20 -25 minutes till well risen and golden brown.
  • Leave to cool in pans. Cool well on a wire rack.
  • For icing: 1)Beat sugar, icing sugar and vanilla together till smooth.
  • Spread on top of one cake and place the other cake on top.
  • Brush jam over the top of cake.
  • Knead the icing with the color and roll out and spread over the cake.
  • Trim the edges and roll the trimmings into petals. Place it on top.
  • Decorate with sugar flowers.
