Squid Curry

Squid in thick onion gravy

Ingredients
  

  • 500 gm Squid
  • 3 nos Onion chopped, big size
  • 3 tbsp Ginger chopped
  • 3 tbsp Garlic chopped
  • 1 tbsp Fennel seeds Perinjeerakam
  • 1 no Tomato chopped, small size
  • 2 tsp Poppy seeds optional, Kashakasha
  • 1 tsp Pepper powder
  • 2 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 3 nos Green chillies
  • 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 cup Water
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a kadai.
  • Put poppy seeds, fennel seeds, ginger, garlic and green chillies and saute for sometime until the raw smell goes.
  • Add chopped tomato and onion and saute until onion turns transparent.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and saute well.
  • Add chilly powder and saute well.
  • Grind this mixture in a blender.
  • Take another kadai and heat the squid rings with a little water.
  • After 2 minutes, put the ground mixture into the squid and mix well and cook until done.
  • If the curry becomes thick, pour some water and simmer in low heat.
  • Add curry leaves and switch off the burner.
  • :- Squid Curry is ready!!! :- Serve the Squid Curry in hot!!!
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
