Paachor - Milk Rice

Paachor is traditional sweet rice prepared during Christian ritual functions. The jaggery and cardamom flavored creamy Milk Rice is simply irresistible. The delicious Paachor or Milk Rice is very easy to prepare with naturally available simple ingredients. Paachor is unique and interesting with white rice cooked in milk and water and later blended with jaggery mixture and other ingredients. Paachor is a nutritious dish and very filling too. Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Pachari raw rice
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 cups Jaggery Melt in 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup Cashews
  • 1/2 cup Golden raisins
  • 1/4 cup Ghee
  • 4 nos Cardamom seed powdered

Instructions
 

  • For preparing Paachor - Milk Rice, first cook rice in milk and water to very tender, falling apart stage.
  • Melt jaggery in water and simmer to plain syrup stage.
  • Add cooked rice to the melted jaggery, mix and cook on medium-low heat.
  • Heat ghee in a small frying pan and fry cashews and golden raisins to light golden color.
  • Add the whole thing - ghee along with fried cashews and golden raisins to the prepared paachor.
  • Simmer on medium-low heat stirring in-between, until the whole thing thickens a bit and comes together to moist, firm mass.
  • Stir in cardamom powder and mix thoroughly just before turning off the heat.
  • :- Paachor - Milk Rice is ready!!! :- Serve the Paachor - Milk Rice warm or cold.
