Cook dal in a pressure cooker till soft.
Heat oil in a pan, add the ginger, garlic and stir. Add in chopped tomatoes and cook till soft.
Stir in turmeric, chilly, coriander and jeera powder and stir well.
Add a little water if it sticks to the pan.
When the oil floats on the masala, transfer the cooked dal into the pan and let it simmer.
Slowly add the spinach and cook for 3 minutes, add salt and sugar to the dal.
Switch off the flame and add the lemon juice, stir and serve garnished.
