Dal With Spinach

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup Moong dal washed and drained
  • 1 bunch Fresh spinach washed and chopped
  • 1 no Tomato cored and cubed
  • 1/2 bulb Garlic chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger chopped
  • 2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Jeera podwer
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 3 cups Water
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions
 

  • Cook dal in a pressure cooker till soft.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add the ginger, garlic and stir. Add in chopped tomatoes and cook till soft.
  • Stir in turmeric, chilly, coriander and jeera powder and stir well.
  • Add a little water if it sticks to the pan.
  • When the oil floats on the masala, transfer the cooked dal into the pan and let it simmer.
  • Slowly add the spinach and cook for 3 minutes, add salt and sugar to the dal.
  • Switch off the flame and add the lemon juice, stir and serve garnished.
