Raisins Bread

A tea time bread with texture and taste similar to a cake

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups All Purpose flour sifted/sieved
  • 1 no Egg
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp McCormick dry orange peel
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • 4 tbsp Butter melted
  • 1/4 - Raisins coat raisins with flour

Instructions
 

  • Layer a loaf pan 8`X5" size with a wax paper and grease and dust it with butter and flour.
  • In a mixing bowl, incorporate flour, powdered sugar, orange peels, baking powder and salt very well.
  • Beat eggs to a light yellow color along with milk and add to the above mix and mix well without any lumps.
  • Add melted butter and raisins to the batter and gently mix well without overdoing it.
  • Preheat the oven to 350F. Pour the batter into the pan( it should fill half for the above mentioned specification).
  • Once oven is preheated, bake it for 95 mts or when it is done well. :-Towards 70 minutes, insert a skewer in the middle of the cake and see if it comes clean.
  • :-You can substitute raisins with bluberry,walnuts etc.....
