Mango Thokku

Tasty when served with curd rice

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Raw mango sliced
  • 3/4 cup Jaggery Sharkkara
  • 3 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Asafoetida Kaayam
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
  • 5 nos Curry leaves

Instructions
 

  • Cut the raw mango into thin slices.
  • Heat oil in the pan.
  • Splutter mustard seed, black gram and curry leaves.
  • Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and asafoetida and fry till the raw smell goes.
  • Add all the mango slices and fry.
  • :- No need to add water. It should boil in oil.
  • Finally, add jaggery and allow to get thick and stick with mango.
  • Add 1 or 2 spoon of oil at the end.
  • :- Serve with curd rice.
  • :- If you use gingelly oil taste will be too good.
