American Style Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup Oil
  • 1 3/4 cups Sugar to be powdered
  • 3 nos Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 2 cups Maida
  • 3/4 cup Cocoa
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Curd
  • 1 cup Water

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, add the measured quantity of oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla essence.
  • Beat the ingredients thoroughly using a cake mixer.
  • Sieve together the measured amount of maida, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  • On a low speed mix in a third of the flour mix followed by curd and water.
  • Repeat with another third of flour mix followed by curd and then water.
  • Finally add the remaining flour mix, curd and water.
  • Blend all the ingredients well to get a smooth batter.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.
  • :- If desired sprinkle chocolate bits over the batter.
  • Bake in the oven at 350F(175C) for 30 mins or until a toothpick or wood skewer thrust into the center of the cake and withdrawn is clean or only has dry crumbs attached.
  • Cool the cake before serving.
