Quickie Creme Caramel

Ingredients
  

For the caramel:-

  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Water

For the custard:-

  • 500 ml Milk or 2 cups milk + 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 5 nos Eggs
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 no Cardamom Elakka

Instructions
 

  • Grease an aluminium mould (or non stick) with butter or ghee.
  • Spread the 3 tbsp of sugar evenly on its base.
  • Heat the mould.
  • When the sugar starts turning brown, add 1 tbsp water and heat for a few seconds.
  • Keep the mould aside.
  • Add the milk, eggs, sugar, and cardamom into a mixie and blend well till frothy.
  • Strain the custard through a strainer and pour into the mould.
  • Steam for 5 - 10 mins or until set.
  • :- The steamer should have started steaming before placing the custard.
  • Chill in the freezer for 10 mins and then move it to the fridge.
  • Turn the pudding into a serving plate.
  • Decorate it with cherries or caramelised cashew nuts.
  • :- This is a very easy dessert and a definite success.
