North Indian Easy Tomato Rice

Ingredients
  

  • 1 big Rice
  • 2 nos Onion sliced length wise, big
  • 4 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 4 nos Cinnamon sticks Karugapatta
  • 2 nos Cardamom Elakka
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • 3 nos Green chillies slit
  • 1 tbsp Chilly powder
  • 8 nos Tomato finely chopped
  • 1 cup Mint leaves Pudhina
  • 1/2 cup Coriander leaves
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Pour oil in the cooker.
  • When the oil turns hot, add the sliced onions.
  • When the onion slightly turns brown, add the cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and ginger-garlic paste and stir for 5 mins.
  • Add the green chillies.
  • Add the tomatoes and the chilli powder.
  • Allow it to cook and let the water leave the tomato.
  • Add the pudhina, coriander leaves and salt.
  • Add the rice and stir the mixture for 2 mins.
  • Add 2 full glasses of water(double quantity of the rice taken).
  • Pressure cook upto 2 whistles.
  • Open the cooker after pressure, mix the rice well and serve hot.
