Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 kg Fine rice not Basmathi rice
  • 1/4 kg Green gram
  • 350 ml Ghee
  • 1 no Coconut
  • 100 gm Cashew
  • 500 gm Sugar or finely grated Jaggery
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder Elakka
  • 1 ltr Milk

Instructions
 

  • Wash rice and green gram.
  • By spreading them over a neat surface, allow to dry.
  • Cut the coconut into small pieces.
  • Fry both coconut and cashew in 1 tbsp of ghee.
  • Mix 1 ltr of milk and 2 glasses of water and boil.
  • Add rice and green gram.
  • Cook until done.
  • Add cashew & coconut pieces followed by sugar/jaggary powder. Mix well.
  • Add cardamom powder.
  • Add the ghee.
  • Mix thoroughly and allow to simmer gently on low flame until fully done.
