Salted Fish Curry

Dry Salted Vanjharam (Seer fish) Curry

Ingredients
  

  • 8 pieces Dry salted Vanjharam fish
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder 2 tbsp
  • 1 cup Tomato chopped
  • Salt Very little as the fish is already salted
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 cup Onion chopped
  • 4 nos Green chillies slit
  • 150 ml Refined oil
  • 1 tbsp Mustard seeds

Instructions
 

  • Clean the fish pieces and soak them for about 15 mins in water.
  • Remove and allow to dry.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add fish pieces and fry until brown.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, chopped onions, green chillies, salt and finally the tomato pieces.
  • Mix well and fry until oil separates.
  • Add little water and cook until it is done.
