Gobi Chatpata

Cauliflower cooked in a tasty and tangy curry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 no Cauliflower cut into florets
  • Peas A handful
  • 1 no Onion chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • 1/2 cup Tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp Tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 4 tsp Oil
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Boil cauliflower florets and the peas in salted water along with 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, till it is cooked half.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add onions and saute for 1 - 2 mins.
  • Add in ginger-garlic paste and saute till onion turn brown.
  • Add cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, remaining turmeric powder, sugar and salt and stir thoroughly for a while.
  • Add tomato puree, tomato ketchup and saute it till oil separates.
  • Add in half cooked cauliflower florets and cook for 5 - 10 mins on a low heat, covered, till gobi is cooked.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • :- Serve with roti or pulao.
