American Green Chicken

An excellent chicken curry with no masalas

Ingredients
  

  • 2 full Chicken legs
  • 2 nos Onion
  • 2 bundle Spring onions
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Black pepper powder coarse
  • 1 tbsp Mint powder if available
  • Salt As reqd
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  • 2 nos Green chillies
  • Coriander leaves A small bundle would do
  • 10 - Mint leaves
  • Whole black pepper A few
  • Cloves A few, Grambu

Instructions
 

  • Cut onions and spring onions into small pieces and chop each chicken leg into 3.
  • Add oil in a small pan and add some whole black pepper and cloves to it.
  • Keep the flame to medium. Add the chopped onions and stir for a minute.
  • Add the spring onions and stir for a minute.
  • Add the chicken.
  • Keep at mid flame (4 on a electric hob) for atleast 20 mins stirring occasionally.
  • Once the chicken is half cooked, add the ginger, garlic, green chillies, salt, mint powder and pepper powder.
  • Keep on the flame until chicken is cooked completely (10 - 15 mins), stirring occasionally.
  • Add coriander and mint leaves at the end and mix well before serving.
  • :- If you use a pressure cooker, reduce cooking times to about half. If you use a non-stick pan you will need to stir only occasionally.
