Moloshyam

A classical vegetarian Kerala dish made with dal and vegetables

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup Red gram Thuvaraparippu

One or more of the following vegetables cubed:-

  • Yellow Pumpkin(Mathanga)
  • Potato
  • 1 cup Bringal/Eggplant
  • 4 nos Green chillies slit
  • Curry leaves As reqd
  • 1 tsp Coconut oil
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Pressure cook dhal with water and turmeric powder.
  • Add vegetables, 2 cups of water and green chillies to the dal.
  • :- No chilly powder required for this curry.
  • Cook till the vegetables are done.
  • Switch off the flame and add curry leaves and coconut oil.
  • Just pour the tea spoon of oil over the hot dish and curry leaves. No seasoning with mustard is reqd.
  • :- Serve with rice and pappadam.
