Kerala Tasty Chicken Curry

Kerala style with coconut milk and fried coconut

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 4 nos Onions finely sliced
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  • 2 nos Tomato chopped
  • 2 nos Green chillies
  • 2 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1 cup Thin coconut milk
  • 1 cup Thick coconut milk
  • Curry leaves A few
  • Oil As reqd
  • Salt As reqd

For tempering:-

  • Mustard seeds
  • Dried red chillies
  • Chopped small onions
  • Curry leaves

Instructions
 

  • Grind together all the ingredients for coconut mixture.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chillies and curry leaves and fry till brown.
  • Add tomatoes and fry till oil is visible.
  • Add coriander powder, chilly powder and garam masala powder and saute for few minutes.
  • Add cleaned chicken, salt and mix well.
  • Add thin coconut milk and cook till the chicken is done.
  • Mix the ground coconut mixture and bring to boil.
  • Add thick coconut milk.
  • Add the tempering with mustard seeds, dried red chillies, chopped small onions and curry leaves. Kerala tasty chicken curry is ready.
