Cabbage Chutney

Ingredients
  

  • 250 gm Cabbage
  • Tamarind A lemon sized one, Puli
  • 3 nos Red chillies
  • 3 nos Green chillies
  • 1" piece Ginger chopped
  • 4 nos Garlic pods
  • 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  • 3 spoon Coriander
  • Asafoetida(Kayam)
  • Salt As reqd

For seasoning:-

  • 1 spoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 spoon Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
  • 10 nos Curry leaves

Instructions
 

  • Heat some oil in a pan.
  • Add the cut cabbage pieces and fry for 3 mins.
  • Add ginger, garlic, green and red chillies, mustard seeds and coriander and sprinkle asafoetida and fry for 5 mins.
  • Sprinkle turmeric powder.
  • Allow it to cool.
  • Add tamarind juice and salt to it. Mix well.
  • Grind it to a fine paste.
  • Season it with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
