Spicy Kerala Fried Chicken

Chicken marinated in spices and fried

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs Chicken cut into small pieces
  • 2 nos Onion thinly sliced
  • 2 sprigs Curry leaves
  • 4 nos Green chillies
  • Oil for deep frying

For marination:-

  • 1/4 cup Onion
  • 1 no Egg
  • 3 tbsp Ginger
  • 3 tbsp Garlic
  • 4 nos Green chillies
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp Lime juice
  • 2 tbsp Soya sauce
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Chilly powder
  • 2 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 no Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • 3 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 3 nos Cardamom Elakka
  • 1 tbsp Fennel seeds Perinjeerakam
  • 1/2 tbsp Pepper corns Kurumulaku
  • 1/4 cup Cornflour
  • 1/4 tsp Ajinomotto optional
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Grind all the ingredients for marinade in the food processor until smooth.
  • Pour this over the chicken pieces and let it marinate overnight or atleast 5 hrs.
  • Heat up the oil in a pan.
  • Fry the marinated chicken pieces in it till chicken turns golden brown.
  • After all the chicken is fried, heat up the same pan with the remaining oil.
  • Fry the thinly sliced onion, curry leaves and green chillies till crisp.
  • Mix the chicken with the fried onion and curry leaves.
  • :- Serve hot.
