Onion Kozhambu

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 4 tsp Tamarind paste Puli
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • Jaggery As reqd, Sharkkara
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
  • 7 - Small onions Kunjulli
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions
 

  • Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Splutter mustard seeds and black gram.
  • Fry small onions till it becomes soft.
  • Add some salt and chilly powder.
  • Add water to it followed by the puli paste and jaggery and keep it on a low flame and wait till it cooks out well with good smell.
  • Transfer it to a bowl.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • :- You can have onion raita as a side dish for this.
