Onion Kozhambu Easy to make and a very tasty one 2 cups Water2 tsp Salt4 tsp Tamarind paste (Puli)1 1/2 tsp Chilly powderJaggery (As reqd, Sharkkara)1/2 tsp Mustard seeds1/2 tsp Black gram (Uzhunnuparippu)7 - Small onions (Kunjulli)1 tsp OilCoriander leaves for garnishing Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan or a kadai.Splutter mustard seeds and black gram.Fry small onions till it becomes soft.Add some salt and chilly powder.Add water to it followed by the puli paste and jaggery and keep it on a low flame and wait till it cooks out well with good smell.Transfer it to a bowl.Garnish with coriander leaves. :- You can have onion raita as a side dish for this.
