Andhra Pappu

Paruppu(Dhal) in Andhra style

Ingredients
  

  • 200 gm Dhal Parippu
  • 3 nos Tomato
  • 1 no Onion
  • 4 nos Garlic pods
  • Curry leaves A few
  • 4 nos Red chillies
  • 3 - Coriander leaves
  • Oil
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Take dhal and pressure cook it for 10 mins(3 whistles).
  • Heat some oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Fry the finely chopped onions, till it turns brown.
  • Add the finely chopped tomatoes to it and cook on a low flame, until the tomatoes become a paste.
  • Add garlic to it.
  • Add the cooked dhal into this paste and pour 2 cups of water.
  • Keep this mixture on low flame until it boils.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Allow the curry to set for 10 mins.
  • :- Serve with rice.
