Karuvepillai Thovaiyal

Authentic Tamilnadu Dish made with curry leaves and coriander leaves

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bunch Curry leaves Karuveypila
  • 1 bunch Coriander leaves
  • 3 nos Green chillies
  • 1 tbsp Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
  • Tamarind A small ball, Puli
  • 1/2 cup Grated coconut
  • Asafoetida As reqd, Kayam
  • 1 tbsp Mustard
  • 1 tbsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add black gram and fry well.
  • Add asafoetida followed by green chillies and fry well.
  • Add both coriander leaves and curry leaves and fry well.
  • Add coconut and tamarind and fry, till the water leaves the coconut.
  • Put the fried ingredients into a mixer grinder.
  • Add salt and a little water and grind well.
