North Indian Moong Dal Curry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Green gram roasted lightly, Moong dal/Cherupayar parippu
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • 2 tsp Garlic chopped
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
  • 2 tsp Coriander leaves chopped
  • 11/2 cups Water
  • 1 tbsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
  • Splutter cumin seeds.
  • Add garlic and saute for 3 - 4 mins.
  • Add moong dal, turmeric, chilly powder, salt and water and cook upto 2 whistles.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • :-Serve hot with white rice or chappathis.
