Paalak Delight

Wholesome dal with paalak

Ingredients
  

  • 20 gm Red gram Thuvaraparippu
  • 20 gm Moong dal Cheruparippu
  • 20 gm Bengal gram Kadalaparippu
  • Paalak As reqd
  • 10 nos Garlic pods halved
  • Ginger A bit
  • 5 - Green chillies
  • 1/2 tbsp Oil
  • Cumin seeds(Jeerakam)
  • Mustard seeds
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • Salt As reqd
  • Paneer optional

Instructions
 

  • Wash all dals and paalak.
  • Place them along with ginger, green chillies and 1/2 cup of water in a pressure cooker.
  • Pressure cook approximately for 12 mins.
  • Cool it to room temperature.
  • Grind 1/4 of the above mixture into a coarse form.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Add crushed garlic.
  • Splutter mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  • :- If desired, you can add asafoetida also.
  • Add the dal mix and stir.
  • Slowly add milk.
  • Add paneer pieces and boil it for 1/2 min.
  • :- Serve with rice or rotis. It can be used as a soup too.
