Grind beetroot and onion separately in a mixer grinder.
:- Do not grind them into a paste.
Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
Add cloves, cardamom and cinnamon stick.
Add the coarsely ground beetroot and onion.
Add salt, turmeric powder, chilly powder and ginger-garlic paste.
Fry it on a medium flame for about 15 mins.
Add coconut powder and fry, until the raw smell is gone.
Add garam masala powder and stir well.
Remove from the flame.
