Beetroot Fry

Beetroot fried with onion & coconut

Ingredients
  

  • 4 nos Beetroot cut into cubes
  • 1 no Onion cut into cubes, small
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • Turmeric powder A pinch
  • 1 tbsp Chilly powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 small Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • 3 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 2 nos Cardamom Elakka
  • Fresh coconut powder A handful
  • 1 tbsp Garam masala powder

Instructions
 

  • Grind beetroot and onion separately in a mixer grinder.
  • :- Do not grind them into a paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Add cloves, cardamom and cinnamon stick.
  • Add the coarsely ground beetroot and onion.
  • Add salt, turmeric powder, chilly powder and ginger-garlic paste.
  • Fry it on a medium flame for about 15 mins.
  • Add coconut powder and fry, until the raw smell is gone.
  • Add garam masala powder and stir well.
  • Remove from the flame.
