Wash the fish and keep it aside.
Soak the tamarind and extract the juice from it. Let it be thick. Keep it aside.
Grind together onion, tomato, 2 pods of garlic, pepper, 1 tbsp of cumin seeds, green chillies and curry leaves.
Mix this paste with the tamarind extract.
Add chilly powder, coriander powder, tumeric powder and salt to it and mix it thoroughly. Keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
Add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and the remaining cumin seeds.
Add crushed garlic and a few curry leaves to it.
Once it turns brown, add the tamarind mixture to it.
Let it come for a boil and then simmer it for 10 mins.
Once the oil leaves the sides of the pan, add fish.
Cover and simmer for 5 mins and remove from the stove.
:- Serve with White boiled rice.
:- Prepare the curry overnight and eat it in the morning. It tastes amazing this way.
