Chettinad Mutton Pepper Fry | Chettinad Mutton Sukka

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 kg Mutton
  • 2 nos Onion chopped
  • 2 nos Tomato
  • 2 nos Cardamom Elakka
  • 2 sticks Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • 2 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 1/4 tsp Fennel seeds Perinjeerakam
  • Ginger A small piece
  • 6 nos Garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • Curry leaves A few
  • 2 tsp Pepper corns Kurumulaku
  • 1 tsp Fenugreek seeds Uluva
  • Salt As reqd
  • Coriander leaves (for garnishing)

Instructions
 

  • Grind together tomato, spices and the powders. Keep it aside.
  • Crush the peppercorns and keep it aside too.
  • Clean and cut mutton into medium pieces.
  • Marinate it with the ground masala for 1 hr.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Add fenugreek seeds and curry leaves.
  • Add onion and fry, till golden brown.
  • Add the marinated mutton.
  • Add enough hot water and salt.
  • Cook for 20 - 30 mins.
  • Add crushed pepper.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
